Flow
Light running down the slope of a glacier.

What it shows
What a drop of water would do on a glacier. 16,000 particles start inside the outline and slide downhill, leaving trails of light coloured by altitude. Four glaciers, three palettes (ramp, ice, aurora).
Data
The 30 m elevation model and the outline of each glacier.
How it is made
Each particle follows the steepest slope of the smoothed terrain, with a slight wobble. The trails add up as light.
